The Complete Process

Start by getting to know our puppies before you ever reach out. Every pup on our site has photos, a personality description, and health background — so you can get a real sense of who feels right for your family before making a single call.

Memphis families: Schedule a free in-person visit at our home — available Tuesday through Sunday by appointment. Come meet the puppies, see where they were raised, and spend time with the parents.

Out-of-town families: We offer live video calls — FaceTime or Google Meet — so you can see the puppies in real time, ask questions, and connect with us face to face from anywhere in the country.

No commitment required at this stage. We want you to feel completely confident before taking any next step.

Before we move forward, we ask every family to complete our short puppy application. This isn't a hurdle — it's how we make sure every BCK puppy goes to the right home, and how we get to know you before we ever speak.

The application covers the basics: your household, living situation, experience with dogs, your lifestyle, and what you're hoping for in a puppy. It takes about five minutes and helps us come into the Q&A prepared — so the conversation is specific to you, not generic.

We'll review it and be in touch promptly. If we have any questions beforehand, we'll reach out first.

Before anything is reserved, we sit down together — in person or by phone — for a relaxed conversation. You bring your questions, we bring ours.

We'll talk through each puppy's personality, energy, and temperament, and get a sense of your home and what you're looking for. It goes both ways — ask us anything about the parents, the breeding, how the pups were raised, what to expect in the first weeks. No question is too small.

Memphis families: This happens naturally during your in-person visit. You're already meeting the puppies, so the conversation flows from what you're seeing right in front of you.

Out-of-town families: We do this by phone or video after reviewing your application. Usually about 20–30 minutes — unhurried.

Once we've both decided it's the right fit, we make it official. Your reservation deposit secures your puppy — from that moment, they're yours and no one else can reserve them.

Memphis families: We sign the Puppy Sales Contract together in person at our home. You'll review it, ask any questions, sign it by hand, and receive your copy on the spot. Your $500 reservation deposit secures your puppy and is applied toward the listed puppy price. The remaining balance is due when your puppy is picked up.

Out-of-town families: Your $500 reservation deposit secures your puppy, and your Puppy Sales Contract is sent digitally within 24 hours. Sign electronically, and we'll confirm everything in writing. The remaining balance is due when your puppy is delivered or at the agreed handoff.

The contract covers the bill of sale, our 2-year health guarantee, spay/neuter terms, and our return policy. We walk through every section together before anything is signed — take your time with it.

Memphis pickup (most popular): Come to our home and collect your puppy in person. You'll see exactly where they were raised, spend a little more time with them and the parents, and leave with everything they need. Same-day pickups available — just let us know.

Scheduled pickup: Not ready for same-day? We'll hold your reserved puppy until you are. Pick up at our Memphis home whenever you're ready — we'll stay in touch with photos and updates in the meantime.

In-cabin delivery (nationwide): Our breeder personally accompanies your puppy in the cabin of the flight — never cargo, never a stranger — to your nearest major airport. From there, you meet us at arrivals. This is the gold standard for out-of-town delivery.

Ground transport available for locations within approximately 3 hours of Memphis.

The day your puppy comes home is just the beginning of your relationship with Bluff City Kennels — not the end of it. We're here for you long after the paperwork is signed.

Every BCK puppy arrives with everything they need for a smooth, confident transition:

A health certificate from our licensed vet, full vaccination and deworming records, their 2-year health guarantee, and a copy of the signed contract. Plus a puppy crate, food bowl, a starter bag of their current food (enough for 7–10 days), their favorite toy, and a blanket with momma's scent — which makes the first nights significantly easier.

We'll also walk you through their current routine: when they eat, how much, what they're used to, and what to expect in the first 48 hours. You won't go home guessing.

After that — we're a call away. Questions about food, training, behavior, health — send us a text, shoot us an email, or just call. We stay in touch with our families.
